Outstanding Chapter Programs

Umbrella Program
The Linkages to H.E.A.L.T.H. is the umbrella program Monterey Bay Links used to contribute to the empowerment of the African American community. The acronym connotes Health, Education, Arts/Culture, Literacy, Tutorial support and other Help/assistance where needed. The purpose of this umbrella project is to empower local African Americans to build healthy communities by connecting with and identifying resources and services that meet their personal, educational, social, spiritual and cultural needs to improve the quality of life for themselves and families.

The Monterey Bay Chapter of the Links, Incorporated is starting the next level of service to our communities by implementing “The Total Child/Youth” service program. This program is to focus on four specific prongs: 1. Health (to include physical activity) 2 Finance 3. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) 4.Social Skills (to include the Arts).

This program begins at the elementary school level and continues with the same group of students through their high school years.

The schools involved in this project are Ord Terrace and Highland Elementary Schools, Martin Luther King and Seaside Middle Schools, and Seaside and Marina High Schools.
